DB Board Upgrades in Johannesburg & Sandton

Outdated or overloaded DB board? We upgrade to a modern, labelled distribution board with surge protection and a valid COC.

Your distribution board (DB board) is the electrical nerve centre of your home — every circuit runs through it, every safety device lives in it, and its condition determines whether your wiring is safe, insurable and compliant. Older boards with rewirable fuses, unlabelled breakers and no surge protection are a fire risk and will fail any Certificate of Compliance inspection. Apple Plumbing & Electrical upgrades DB boards across Johannesburg, Sandton, Midrand, Fourways and Bryanston — replacing outdated units with modern, fully labelled boards fitted with earth-leakage protection, surge protective devices and correctly rated breakers for every circuit.

    What we do

We remove the old distribution board and replace it with a new DIN-rail board sized for your current circuits plus spare capacity for future additions (solar, EV charger, pool pump). Every breaker is matched to the cable it protects, earth-leakage units are tested with calibrated instruments, and Type 1+2 surge protective devices are fitted as standard. The board is clearly labelled — circuit by circuit — so any future electrician (or you) can identify what's what. We issue an Electrical Certificate of Compliance on completion.

    Signs you need this service

    • Your DB still has rewirable fuses or old-style push-in breakers
    • Breakers trip frequently or won't reset
    • You're preparing for an inverter or solar PV installation
    • Your home failed a COC inspection due to the DB board
    • Circuits are unlabelled and you don't know what controls what
    • You're adding high-load circuits (geyser, aircon, EV charger)
    • Load-shedding return surges have damaged appliances
